Our philosophy of training is based on the balance between human and dog. We believe that a trained dog is a much happier dog and a more enjoyable companion for the owner. Our system has been developed using information from many years of experience and we are constantly making changes and improvements to better ourselves. We train as a family, and we all compete with our own dogs so we can better ourselves as trainers and do something we all enjoy together.
Through our system of training, we first teach the dog to understand training, which is what we see as the foundation for all future training. We believe that by building a dog’s desire or drive to work the end product is a dog that is willing to please and happy to work, so we focus on developing toy and food drives from a very early age. Through training like this the bond between owner and dog grows which expands the possibilities of future training.
We believe that dogs should be trained in a fair way, where everything that we ask for from the dog should be clear to him in black and white. In training we use positive reinforcement and corrections with different kinds of training collars, depending on the results of the initial evaluation. Toys and food are what we use as rewards for the dog for a job well done.
We believe in the pack structure, and we use it. It helps to influence the dogs to change their behaviors when living in a human environment. We base our training on respect towards the animal, and never use our influence as a trainer to destroy the dog’s spirit. To finalize, our dog training philosophy is to mold to the dog’s needs and utilize his drive to achieve training in a happy and positive way while teaching the dog to be responsible for his actions. Through our training we are able to open the communication between owner and dog which helps develop their bond and love for each other.
We are available to help with any of your training needs, so contact us for any of your questions or to schedule a training evaluation to see what kind of training will be best for your dog.
We understand that every dog is different and in order to succeed in this training process we adapt our system to specifically fit your dog. We do this through evaluating both your dog and your needs. By meeting with you before we start training, we are able to better understand your desires with training your dog.
After we evaluate and meet with you and your dog, we create a schedule for the training process. The way our training works is you bring the dog, and he/she will stay with us for 2 weeks and then go back home with you for 2 weeks until the desired level of training is reached. We believe that this system of training is the best for the dog, because dogs have a very short attention span so by staying with us, we are to able work with them several times a day. The number of phases that your dog needs depend on the age and what level you want to reach.
There many different phases of our training program, and the order and type of phase depends on your dog. All of our phases start from simple to more advanced depending on the dog's level. Examples of phases that we offer include puppy training, basic obedience, advanced obedience, socialization, and specific behavior needs. After each phase, before the dog goes home, we meet with you in order to explain and demonstrate what your dog has learned during this phase, we also show you what you need to practice at home.
